How this works
Most businesses do not need a full-time designer but do need design work done consistently well. The retainer solves this without the overhead of an in-house hire. It is a fixed monthly block of senior design time that renews each month. Clients use it for ongoing brand materials, website page additions, social media templates, presentation design, product iteration, or whatever design work arises that month. The retainer has no fixed project scope because the nature of retainer work is that it varies. What is fixed is the quality, the response time, and the commitment that the design stays coherent to the visual system we have established. We require a minimum of three months and ask for a rolling 30-day notice to exit. Most clients stay significantly longer because the design quality is consistent and the relationship is efficient. New retainer clients who do not already have a design system in place will complete a foundation project first, so we are building on something defined rather than starting from scratch each month.
